EVELINA RIBAROVA

My name is Evelina Ribarova. I was born 15th January 1983 at Burgas in Bulgaria. Since I was a child I dreamed of becoming an artist, and here I am. I have just completed my studies at the Faculty of Figurative Arts at V.Turnovo in Bulgaria. Particular artists have inspired me: for wealth and precision of details, Albert Durer and Gustave Klimt; for grace, fabulousness and variety of colors and forms, Botticelli, D.G. Rossetti and Ivan Milev; for mythical light and exoticness of colors , C.D. Friedrich, H. Rouseau, F. Kahlo and Vladimir Dimitrov Majstora. The spatial concepts of Lucio Fontana have inspired me to experiment and induced me to work on frames and not on canvas. I try to create contemporary works , which somehow reconcile the artistic triumphs of the past with the experiments of today. I should like my Collages to give a sense of a mystical and fabulous depth, the luxury of exotic vivacious colors which enable those who look to enter the picture. I should like my works to be glimpses of dream that offer us moments of serenity in our difficult world. The themes that most interest me are states of mind, different mentalities, different types of persons , the basis of society. I am stirred by the feeling that something extraordinary may arouse in me nature's perfection, the sacredness of a place. color and entire form, with their movement must express feeling. In my work I use a variety of materials (paper, wood, metal, tread, cloth, lacquer, glue, etc. ) to create various effects. I use the computer, creating first a drawing on my P. C. Sewing paper, experimenting on the surface of a picture. I wish to work and experiment with works in glass, natural materials, various glues, etc. I intend to create works dedicated to the spirit, to cast a different eye on mythology, to create a social critical circle. With an eye fixed on objects of antiquity, I am working on jewels to excite a feeling of luxury and richness. Like the colored splendor created by seed pearls entangled in various forms.
