My interest in art is constantly kept alive by the numerous students Iíve met during my many years of teaching at The Academy of Fine Arts; it has helped me to recognize the best.
My fondness for Chiara Abbaticchio has only grown with her increasing concentration in art studies, first at the Liceo Artistico and, since 2003, at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome.
The satisfaction of a teacher, who is able to admire the results of a diligent student in an art exhibition at Castel Gandolfo, who sees her work exhibited and confronted with a recognized American artist, is very great.
In this exhibition, entitled "The Intimate Portrait", Chiara presents twenty paintings that portray with her expressive vision the souls of the female models she's chosen, and depict, with essential and strongly personal traits, all the spirit and feeling that she knows how to read in these young faces.
Colors, expression and personal technique make these paintings original and captivating for the observer.
I could say a lot more about Chiara's work and commitment during her years of study, but I would like to leave the visitor to this show the pleasure of taking in the message of spontaneity that springs from her incisive work.
Many congratulations to a young artist for the road she has undertaken.
