Pedro Cano, born 10th. August 1944 in Blanca, a small city in the Spanish province of Murcia, He makes his debut, still an adolescent, as a self-taught painter in oils.. In 1964 he begins painting courses at the Academy of San Fernando in Madrid, under the influence of Antonio Lopez Garcia and Juan Barjola; in 1969 he transfers to the Spanish Academy in Rome after being awarded the 'Prix de Rome'. A tireless traveller,he leaves Spain and moves first to Latin America and later the United States, where he resides from 1984 to 1989,, finally settling in 'Anguillara Sabazia' on Lake of Bracciano not very far from Rome. As an important exponent of Spanish neorealism, he transmits the solitariness of his earth, the atmosphere of a small Spanish province, the solitude of his stay in New York and the grandness of Rome in oils and water colour.
He exhibits in the biggest cities of the world.
