On Thursday, September 6, 2007, Betty Cuningham Gallery will open an exhibition of new paintings and works on paper by Gordon Moore. The current group of large scale paintings further develops the abstracted format and reduced palette of the works exhibited in Moore’s previous show in this gallery in 2005. In the earlier pieces the strong grid, the multiple veils and the piercing structures were elements of a formal language developed by Moore to explore his continuing visual concerns. Read article>>

Frank Stella: Painting into Architecture Since the early 1990s, Frank Stella has embarked on architectural endeavors that are an extension of his career as a ground-breaking painter whose work has frequently alluded to a third dimension and has increasingly taken on an architectonic aspect. Frank Stella: Painting into Architecture explores Stella’s interest in architecture over the course of his career, and his profound engagement with the designing and crafting of space over the past decade in particular, through works in a variety of media that are characteristically exuberant, expressionistic, and sculptural.

Robert Mann Gallery is pleased to open the fall season with an exhibition of 16 new photographs by Dutch artist Wijnanda Deroo. Interiors will be on view from September 6 to October 13, 2007. An opening reception for the artist will be held on Thursday, September 6 from 6-8pm.An international traveler with a camera as her companion rather than a guide book, Wijnanda Deroo explores the shared humanity imprinted upon the environments we inhabit.
The paintings of Robert Reitzfeld will be on display at the John Davis Gallery in Hudson, New York from November 8th through December 2nd, 2008 with a reception for the artist on November 10th from 6:00 till 8:00 pm. Robert's work is often referred to as both Pop Art and Abstract Painting. To reference his sources of imagery we must look at the fact that we are besieged with an astounding number of images every day.
